Whilst preparing ourselves to work fully remotely in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it occurred to us the work we were undertaking could be of great use to many small businesses across the country, and so we set to work creating an easy to install and easy to manage remote worker office network access.

We have wrapped a management tool around a service we already provide which enables us to help small businesses without the need for in depth IT knowledge or a huge price tag.

Who's it for?

This service is perfect for small businesses with 1 – 50 staff in a variety of industries facing remote access and working challenges.

For larger organisations we are still able to offer our services however we will need to review your requirements to establish if we will be able to deliver in a timely manner.

How can this help my company?

Here’s some examples of what can be achieved with a VPN for your workforce.

It is common for a Network Attached Storage device to be installed for shared file access. By installing our cloud connector you will be able to access this device via your VPN.

Print from anywhere to your office based network enabled printers.

It is often the case that some web services are IP restricted to your office, we can redirect your remote workers Internet traffic while working from home to make it appear as though it is coming from your office’s Internet Connection allowing you to continue to access these restricted services securely.

If you have an Active Directory server based in your office providing user authentication or email, our cloud connector can enable this connectivity.

Want to check up on your CCTV but can only do that when connected to your office network? We can enable remote access with our VPN service.

How does it work?

  1.  You will install a small, pre-configured device connected to your office network, you will receive this by post.
  2. Once the device has been installed it will automatically connect to your dedicated, secure Cloud VPN server and your clients will now be able to communicate with devices located within your office network.
  3. While you wait for your device to arrive you can start issuing VPN credentials to your staff via the online portal.
  4. You then need to install a piece of software called a VPN Client on all of your computers which require remote access.
In summary, your office connects to our Cloud VPN service using the device you install, and your staff then connect to the same Cloud VPN service enabling them to access your office network.

How quickly can this be installed?

The necessary hardware will be posted to you with next day delivery (subject to stock availability).

For the most basic of configurations, once you have plugged in your device and configured your clients – that’s it, you’re done. A basic configuration will be sufficient for most networks.

What hardware will we need?

Once we have established your needs we will send you an appropriately sized cloud connection device based on the number of staff you are providing access for and the type of data you will be transmitting.

The cloud connector will need to be plugged in to your office network with a network cable (supplied) and will require a 13 amp (standard plug) socket to be powered.

You will receive:

  1. Cloud Connector
  2. Power Supply
  3. Network Cable

What about security?

All traffic is fully encrypted as it travels over the public Internet. Our cloud based servers are secured to the highest standards.

You just need to make sure you keep your devices safe, if a device is lost or stolen you can immediately disable access via the web based management portal.

Can we connect more than one office?

Yes. You can install a cloud connector in each office which will enable connectivity from your VPN clients to as many offices as you have installed a cloud connector.

Enabling connectivity from office to office is also possible at an additional charge however a site visit may be required.
